WIW {What I wore}

Spring Greetings!
I so wish...
Seems our warm weather has taken a turn.
We are back in the high 50s very low 60s. I was so hoping for an early spring.
I was prematurely pulling out my sandals.
Ehh, it will be here soon enough and then I will be complaining how hot I am.

Let us get started on "What I wore" Thrift Store style.

Many of you have seen this look pinned on my Pinterest board "Thrift Store Fashion Inspiration". I loved this look (original creator). Actually I was swooning! I had to duplicate the concept...STAT! I already had most of the items in my thrifty little closet. Sadly a sequin top was not available at Goodwill, but I did find it at Marshalls for less then $10.
Good deal right? I think so.

After School Snack. {Pizza Pie Pockets]

You know that nursery rhyme,
"Old Mother Hubbard went to her cupboard to give her poor dog a bone, when she was there, the cupboard was bare..."
Well, I seriously need to get to the grocery store.
 I AM OLD MOTHER HUBBARD.
I have been staying indoors lately because the weather has been poopy. Plus the little ones have been slightly under the weather. So my snack stash is down to a minimal...we have all been there right?
My kids are hugemungo snackers.
They are going to major growth spurts lately and already eating like teenagers.
Lord help us when our boys get older.
So Bam and I went rummaging through the kitchen to find something to make for an after school snack. We came up with Pizza Pie Pockets. Like Hot Pockets but a little healthier version. We are fans of pie crust. Seriously who doesn't like pie crust. So putting Pizza with Pie, sounded interesting and had my dieting taste buds salivating.

Here is our creation.
{I feel like we made a FrankenPizza}

We used:
Pie Crust
Turkey Pepperoni
String Cheese
Pizza Sauce

{apologies for the shadow, there was actual SUN shinning through the window so I took advance of it}
Using a Pizza cutter I cut the pie crust in 4 quarters.
You should end up with 8 quarters between the two sheets of pie crust.

Add the pizza sauce to only half of the dough.

Add string cheese

Pepperoni and any other toppings.

Fold remaining dough over to form a pocket and seal the ends with a fork.

Enlist other helpers...

I arranged them on a Pampered Chef baking stone.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Crisp Flaky Pizza Goodness!
A perfect after school snack for the kiddos.

Have a super weekend!

WIW Week In Review

OK, so I am not perfect. Actually I am very forgetful busy, so I apologize for not remembering to take photos of all my daily ensembles. The good news is I did take 3 days worth of photos, and my friends that is half of the work week. WOOT!

It is no secret if you have been reading my blog that I am a thrift store junkie. YEP! Proud of it too.
99% of my wardrobe is thrifted. If you know me personally, you know that I am pretty much always (or try to be) pulled together. It feels good knowing that I can do that at an affordable price...
like on the CHEAP!
Thrifting is the best way to try out new trends. You do not have to spend tons of mon-neh in the event you don't like that SAID trend. Hence me in the (Yellow Leggings)

I am passionate about my thrift stores. My husband thinks I am a little looney tunes when I come home EXCITED about what I found. (but he appreciates the frugalisita in me)
If you know me personally and want to try out thrift store wardrobe shopping,
I would gladly go with you and help. Call me friends!

Again I want to say THANK YOU to cousin Lauren at Form and Function, for making my life easier by teaching me to stage my clothing in advance. This has been a huemongo
relief when getting dressed in the morning.

Ok enough with the wordy nonsense... Here is mah week in review.
Sadly the photos are not of good quality. {boo}

Black and Brown together actually look great.
Of course I had to throw in some animal print.

Oh and SNAPS for me for keeping them clean all day, even with 3 kids.
Hollister Thermal: Thrifted

Mustard legging trend..yay or neh?

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there friends!

I am sure you are well aware that Mustard is the rage right now. No I don't mean, mustard on your Ball Park Frank. (although that is uberly der-licious) I am talking about the Mustard fashion trend. This was one trend that I was able to embrace, only because I love yellow.
Black and Yellow to be exact...
uh huh, you know what it is,
Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow

So after seeing Mustard Yellow leggings I decided to try it out.
At the moment I am not feeling it...for myself, on this outfit. Maybe with something else.

?????????

Also I wanted to mention, this outfit is 50% thrifted.
Skirt: Goodwill (Target NWT)
Mustard Blouse: Goodwill
Sweater: Goodwill
Scarf: Ross
Leggings: Target
Shoes: Goodwill
Belt: Walmart

Embrace mixing your patterns.
Here I have mixed stripes with leopard (which I LOVE)

Just wanted to share my fashion fail...mustard tights on me are not what I consider cute.
(*Sad face, cause I really think they look cute on others*)

Thanks for sharing my epic fail.
Have a blessed day!

Hillbilly Date...the best I have had!

This past weekend, the hubby and I found ourselves in each others company...alone.
No kids...this is a rarity folks! Yes, we get the occasional date nights, dinner and a movie.
BUT this weekend we had the whole weekend alone.
God bless Grandparents.

John works a crazy amount of hours and I am constantly tinkering around with something in the home or consumed with kid let activities. We decided to get away and spend some QUALITY time
and fill our Love Tanks. When I say QUALITY time, I mean, no distractions.
We took a drive up to Shaver Lake (I got horrifically car sick)
had a picnic and did some target practice. Nothing short of a good time with each other.
This day date was so special for us, because we were able to just enjoy each others company and not have to worry about what was going on around us, our cell phones were quiet and all we could hear were each others voices. So often when we are out, we get lost in people watching
and distracted by what is going on around us, that there is NO REAL QUALITY time.
I can honestly say my
 LOVE TANK IS FULL!

Here are some photos from our date.

Beautiful scenery.

The hubs setting up the targets. Of course my target is the lower one.

We took these out there to practice. Hey it is a crazy world...every woman should know how to load and shoot a gun. My favorites were the Ruger 9m and the S&W 40m. I tried to shoot my husbands 45 and it threw me all over the place. I asked him if I could BEDAZZLE the S&W...he laughed. ????

Me loading up my gun..and yes the leopard scarf was ABSOLUTELY necessary.
That is my version of CAMO!

This was one of the best dates that I have had.
I am looking forward to the next time.
I am a total girlie girl, but I still have my Tomboy ways.

Before I go, I wanted to show you one of my targets.
****PROUD****

May your week be blessed!

Kitteh's favorite looks for this Spring

Here in Central Cali the weather has been absolutely beautiful. Getting me excited for Spring. I am talking we have been in the high 60s lately with sunny days. BEAUTIFUL Park weather. Could it already be time to put away the heavy coats, scarfs, boots and coats?
Have you heard what the color for 2012 is?..ORANGE!
That's right orange. Not too far off from last years Coral craze.
Did you feed into it? I did, just a little. Why not right?!?
Most of us women love the winter months allowing us to wear all of our favorite clothing pieces. Do not worry, if you love the layers then here are some looks that I am totally loving for this Spring. Fun, Edgy, Classy, Casual, Working Gal, and Church worthy. All of these looks, mind you...I am on the PROWL for at my local Goodwill. Yep, I love me some Goodwill!

Let us begin!
I love this style. Causal but still very cute. Notice the bag, a bold color. You could even embrace the 2012 Color Trend with an orange bag. Fedoras are cute, I own a few and I love them.

Color blocking NAILED IT!
Who said you have to match? I love the orange with the pink. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
The pop of color with the green is genius.
Notice the Orange...mhm.

(source sadly unknown she needs a HI-5 though)
Stripes+Leopard Print= Fabulocity!
A great Sunday Morning Church service combo.
Need I say more? I will, blazers are very IN, dress them with denim, over a dress, cute cute cute!

ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE.

Oh sista friend, you have melted my heart with this combo!
I love the flashy meets rustic. I am on the hunt for a denim top. This is perfect for day or night. Pair black skinnys and some awesome pumps and WOWZA.

(stylish source)
Laugh NOT, but this is utterly adorable!
My number one outfit to thrift this spring!

This outfit can do no wrong! Mixing your colors is brilliant!
Love the pencil skirt, knotted belt and funky chunky Necklace.

We see the orange and pink combo again. This is a great working gal outfit.

My friends! If you still love to wear scarfs, then this is a good way to transition them into Spring.
 Belt them!

Bold Pants. So very cute!
I just can not bring myself to buy them. But these green ones, I am digging!

There you have it! These are some Spring time styles that I am totally digging.
Now off to the thrift stores to duplicate!

Take care! God Bless!
